Vietnam-Indonesia trade to reach 5 billion USD

Two-way trade between Vietnam and Indonesia may reach 5 billion USD in 2012, three years ahead of the schedule set by the two countries’ governments, according to the Indonesian Trade Ministry and the Vietnamese Embassy’s Commercial Office in Indonesia .

During the official visit to Indonesia by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung last year, the two countries’ leaders agreed to enhance bilateral economic and trade ties, with two-way trade of 5 billion USD in 2015.

However, last year, trade between Vietnam and Indonesia stood at 4.5 billion USD, close to the set target.

In January, 2012, Vietnam exported 197.566 million USD worth of goods to Indonesia and imported 161.723 million USD from the country.

This year, Vietnam targets to export 2.7 billion USD worth of goods to Indonesia.
