€ 6.7 million to build rubbish-based fertilizer plant

The Bình Dương Water Supply, Sewerage and Environment Company started construction of the first garbage-based fertilizer plant in Việt Nam on December 5.

The € 6.7 million plant, with the capacity of 420 tons per day, was financed through the Finnish Government’s official development assistance (ODA).

The plant is part of a waste treatment system in the Nam Bình Dương waste treatment complex.

The project aims to deal with the increasing number of rubbish in the province and fertilizer for local agriculture, said Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Trần Thanh Liêm.

At present, the Nam Bình Dương waste treatment complex receives daily over 700 tons of rubbish and over 80 tons of hazardous wastes from industrial production.
