Vietnam Int’l Agriculture Fair opens in Can Tho City 

Vietnam International Agriculture Fair 2011 opened Tuesday at the Can Tho International Exhibition Center in Can Tho City, attracting 270 domestic and foreign companies.

 The fair opened with 500 booths showcasing farm equipment, production and processing machinery, post-harvest storage equipment and various agricultural produce.

Blueprints of projects to develop agricultural and rural areas were also introduced to visitors, along with achievements made in the field of agriculture.

During the week-long expo, various events will be held to promote agricultural development, including a seminar on the role of agriculture in building a product value chain in the global market,   contracts between trade partners and cultural entertainment programs for visitors.

The fair aims to help agricultural trade promotion activities in order to expand cooperation, search for markets and partners, exchange experiences, gather more science and technology information, improve quality of products, promote brand products, increase competitiveness in Vietnamese agricultural products, and attract investments in agriculture.

The fair will last until December 12.
