EU to remove anti-dumping duties on Vietnam’s leather cap shoes

The European Union (EU) will officially remove anti-dumping duties on leather-capped shoes imported from Vietnam as of March 31, 2011.

Vietnam’s Trade Office in the EU and Belgium said this was announced by the EU’s Official Gazette on March 16.

According to the European Commission’s announcement No.2011/C82/04, the EU’s anti-dumping duties on leather-capped shoes imported from Vietnam and China will be terminated on March 31.

However, the Official Gazette stated that the European Commission (EC) will continue to apply a strict supervision mechanism for one year to assess the import of leather-capped shoes from Vietnam and China. The process aims to help the EC devise measures when there are signs of anti-dumping in the future.
