Savills Vietnam to double workforce in 2009

UK real estate service provider Savills announced Wednesday it would recruit 400 more employees in Vietnam this year.

Savills Vietnam Ltd. currently employs about 380 people nationwide.

"We see an opportunity to grow in this downturn and position ourselves for the inevitable upturn in the economic cycle,” said Savills’ Managing Director Brett Ashton.

He said there were already positive signs of a recovery in the real estate market in Vietnam.

Savills had been the sales agency for some of the largest residential projects in Vietnam including Keangnam Hanoi, Hyatt Regency Danang Residences, Indochina Plaza Hanoi and Mipec Tower.

The company has also worked as a leasing agent for many commercial buildings in Vietnam including Sun City, Centrepoint, Sailing Tower and The Crescent.
