Hanoi-Hung Yen road construction contract inked

A build and transfer (BT) contract to build an inter-provincial road linking Hanoi and northern Hung Yen province was signed on June 18.

Signatories were Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Van Khoi and representatives of Hanoi ’s Gia Lam district People’s Committee and the Coma-Cotana joint venture.

The construction of the 40m-wide Hanoi-Hung Yen road will be started in July and complete in two years. The road is expected to be open to traffic on the occasion of the 1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.

Once completed, the road will be 14km shorter than the current one and help facilitate socio-economic development of Hanoi ’s satellite urban areas, particularly Long Bien and Gia Lam districts.
