HCM City takes on Italian flavour
An exhibition showcasing Italian made products will take place from January 11 to 14 in HCM City.
The Italian exhibition, titled Matching Show, will feature products of more than 30 leading Italian businesses from a range of sectors, including consumer goods and industrial machines and equipment.
The fair aims to provide opportunities for Italian and Vietnamese businessmen to share their experiences and form partnerships while also highlighting the potentials of local industry to visiting Italian businesses.
Italy now ranks as Vietnam ’s 18 th biggest trading partner, with 32 Italian investors accounting for about 113 million USD in investments up to 2007. Trade between the two countries is expected to further increase in the coming years. Trade turnover between Italian and Vietnam stood at 1.2 billion euros in 2007.
Italian production and investment has been directed at the food industry, domestic water heating appliances, electric engines, steel milling, fertiliser production for agriculture, electric engines and most recently motorcycles.
The Italian exhibition follows the successes of a high level business forum held in Hanoi on November 5 last year as part of Italian Minister of Economic Development Claudio Scajola’s visit to Vietnam .
The exhibition is supported by the Vietnam Embassy in Italy and ASIX from Italy and the Vietnam National Trade Fair and Advertising Company (Vinexad).
