- In 1875: SAB was originally a small brewery established by Victor Larue, a Frenchman, in Saigon.
- In 1910: Expanded into a brewery, distillery, and soft drink factory.
- In September 1927: The factory merged with the French company BGI.
- On June 1, 1977: The Southern Alcohol and Beer Company took over management of the factory from BGI, forming the Saigon Beer Factory.
- In 1993: Saigon Beer Factory became Saigon Beer Company after merging with Saigon Ice Factory, Alcohol Beer Mechanical Factory, and Da Kai Mineral Water Factory.
- On May 6, 2003: Saigon Beer Company acquired additional companies and established the Saigon Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation (SABECO).
- On May 11, 2004: The corporation transitioned to a parent-subsidiary model.
- On April 17, 2008: Officially transitioned to a joint-stock company model with a charter capital of VND 6,413 billion.
- On December 6, 2016: First trading on HOSE with a reference price of VND 132,000 per share.
- In November 2023: The company's charter capital is VND 12,826 billion.
