- September 18, 1995: Nam Viet Commercial Joint Stock Bank, formerly known as Song Kien Rural Commercial Joint Stock Bank, was established. The initial charter capital is VND 1.1 billion.
- November 2, 1995: The bank officially went into operation with its headquarters in Kien Giang province.
- From 2001-2006: The bank increased its charter capital from VND 2.6 billion to VND 250 billion.
- May 18, 2006: Approved by the State Bank to transform the operation model into an urban joint stock bank, renamed Nam Viet Commercial Joint Stock Bank and moved its head office to Ho Chi Minh City.
- June 13, 2006: Increased charter capital to VND 500 billion.
- July 26, 2007: Increased charter capital to VND 1,000 billion.
- 2009: Incresed charter capital to VND1,820 billion
- September 13, 2010: Listed and traded on Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX).
- February, 2011: Incresed charter capital to VND 3.010 billion;
- January 22, 2014: Renamed as National Citizen Commercial Joint Stock Bank
- December 18, 2019: Increased charter capital to VND4.101 billion.
