- August 15, 1986: Leather Footwear and Garment Export Factory under Hochiminh City People's Committee was established;

- December 1988: Renamed as Leather Footwear and Garment Export Company (Legamex);

- August 1991: Transferred to Ho Chi Minh Department of Industry for its management;

- December 2005: Hochiminh City People's Committee issued the Decision No.6663/QÐ-UBND approving the plan of equitizing and transforming Leather Footwear and Garment Export Company (Legamex) into Leather Footwear and Garment Making Export Corporation (Legamex);

- August 25, 2006: Put into operation under the model of a joint stock company with an initial charter capital of VND74 billion;

- July 13, 2007: Became a public company;
