- In 1990: Gemadept Corporation was established under the Vietnam Maritime Corporation.
- On July 24, 1993: Converted into a joint stock company under the name Gemadept Joint Stock Company with a charter capital of VND 6.2 billion.
- In 1995: Established Phuoc Long ICD, the first inland container depot (ICD) in Vietnam.
- In 2001: Increased charter capital to VND 200 billion.
- In 2002: Listed Gemadept shares on the stock market.
- In 2004: Established two wholly-owned subsidiaries of Gemadept in Singapore and Malaysia.
- In 2006: Issued shares to increase charter capital to VND 475 billion.
- In 2008: Put into operation four key projects: Gemadept Building, Schenker-Gemadept Logistics Center, and two ports in Dung Quat and Hai Phong.
- In 2010: Increased charter capital to VND 1,000 billion; launched Tan Son Nhat air cargo terminal; increased ownership in Nam Hai Port Company to 99.98%.
- In 2012: Put Distribution Center No. 2 in Song Than Industrial Zone (Binh Duong) into operation; commenced construction of Nam Hai Dinh Vu Container Port.
- In 2013: Increased charter capital to VND 1,144 billion; completed and put Nam Hai Dinh Vu Container Port into operation.
- In 2015: Renamed as Gemadept Corporation.
- On November 15, 2017: Increased charter capital to VND 2,882,769,570,000.
- On December 04, 2018: Increased charter capital to VND 2,969,249,570,000.
- On January 28, 2021: Increased charter capital to VND 3,013,779,570,000.
- On April 24, 2024: Increased charter capital to VND 3,104,869,570,000.
- In January 2025: Increased charter capital to VND 4,139,826,090,000.
- In March 2025: Increased charter capital to VND 4,201,923,090,000.
