FPT Corporation has just won the first M&A of FPT and Vietnam ICT companies’ history outside Vietnam as FPT Software acquires RWE IT Slovakia, a subsidiary of the RWE Group - one of Europe’s leading utility companies.

On 18th June, in Berlin, Germany, Vietnam’s
leading IT corporation - FPT and RWE Group have signed an agreement on
acquiring RWE IT Slovakia. Accordingly, RWE IT Slovakia will become an FPT
Software’s 100% owned company in Europe and be renamed into FPT Slovakia.

RWE IT Slovakia was established in 2004 and
currently has more than 400 employees; most are experts in SAP area. As an
internal IT Service provider RWE IT Slovakia delivers high quality services to
RWE Group mainly in the area of SAP and ‘Smart Home’ solutions.

As part of the agreement, FPT wins 5-year-
contract with RWE Group. Accordingly, the IT services provided to RWE Group
will be delivered jointly from FPT Software Vietnam and FPT Slovakia with a
high US$ two-digit million amount within 5 years. RWE Group is one of the
Europe’s leading utility companies headquartered in Essen, Germany. With
presence in 29 countries, includes Germany, United Kingdom, Czech Republic,
Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, etc.,

RWE Group supplies electricity and gas to
more than 30 million electricity customers and 10 million gas customers, all
over Europe. With a revenue of more than US$ 70 billion and more than 66,000
employees in 2013, RWE is a ‘heavy weight’ in the European economy. RWE Group
expected to spend about USD 1 billion on IT projects.

enlarging the domestic market share in key business fields, FPT continues
boosting its globalization strategy. As one of the most important ways, the
corporation will focus on providing full IT services and migration services
based on new technology (Cloud, Mobility, Big Data) to developed markets such
as Northern America, Europe, Japan, Singapore, etc. The group is expected to
earn USD 340 million in revenue from global market by 2016.
