Stocks correct down in the Wednesday morning
Stock suddenly lost value on the HCM City Stock Exchange at the end of this morning's session due to the continued increasing profit-taking pressure.
The benchmark VN-Index slid 0.22 per cent to more than 487 points on a high turnover of VND1.23 trillion (US$58.6 million).
Blue chips tumbled. Only six of the 30 leading shares by market value and liquidity rallied, of which two – property developer Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAG) and seafood processor Hung Vuong (HVG) – soared to the ceiling.
Advancers slightly edged decliners by 132-124 overall.
Petro Capital Infrastructure Investment (PTL) surprised the market by becoming the most active code this morning with over 3 million shares exchanged, closing at the ceiling price of VND7,200.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index finished this morning unchanged compared with yesterday's close, at 83.66 points.
Trading value reached nearly VND622.5 billion ($29.6 million) on a volume of over 54.7 million shares.
Losers outnumbered gainers by 152-120.
Two codes traded nearly 3 million shares this morning, including Habubank (HBB) and property developer Sacomreal (SCR). While HBB lost 1.5 per cent to close at VND6,600, SCR increased 0.6 per cent to VND15,900 ($0.76)
