LSX stock market turnover surges 102 percent

Turnover surged 102 percent (+US$114,352) on the back of BCEL to US$230,000 at the LSX yesterday.

The banking stock lost 100 kip falling to 7,500 kip as some investors profit took and others retained a cash position.

Compared to Friday's close, volumes rose 46 percent from 178,588 to 260,259 shares.

The middle trading session was action packed as it recorded a real surge of BCEL stocks as the total advanced to 234,503 stocks for a total 1,688,756,500 kip (US$211,332). In that session BCEL loss of 100 kip caused the index to slip 2.21 points to 922.59 on Monday.

Traders should note the exchange will be closed on the last 3 business days Dec 28 to Dec 30.
