Saving accounts increased by 3.78%
The saving accounts of the Bank of Lao PDR increased by 3.87% and released 10.11 % credit loan to goods and foodstuff production projects over the past three months, said a senior official of the bank.
Over the past three months saw the banking system, particularly core banking have been completed, said Governor of Lao Central Bank, Mr. Somphao Phaisit, at the 3rd Party Meeting, yesterday.
The meeting aimed to sum up last three months of its bank and will plan next three month plan by mobilising local people to save more money with the bank to be achieved by 1.94 % or accounting for about 34.4 per cent of GDP at the end of 2011.
The meeting was participated by more than 100 high-ranking officials, civil servants of the bank and other relevant representative from business banks.
The bank has also developed the core banking programme and used OBIEF programme and promoted the use of ATM.
"We have also enhanced the cooperation with Vietnam, China, Cambodia, Thailand, Luxembourg and other International organizations and banks among ASEAN member countries," said Mr Somphao.
The Lao Central Bank has also helped to improve some structures of banks and now helps the Lao Development Bank in order to help them to register in the Lao Securities Exchange market.
