Laos, Vietnam enhance cooperation Securities Exchange

Laos and Vietnam have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation and lesson exchange on Securities Exchange in Vientiane last Friday.

The document was signed by Head office of Lao Securities and Exchange Commission Mrs Vatthana Dalaloy and President of State Securities Commission of Vietnam, Mr. Vu Bang.

Witnessed the event were the Standing Deputy and Chairman of Lao Securities and Exchange Commission, Mr. Somsavat Lengsavad, Bank of Lao PDR and Standing Member of Lao Securities and Exchange Commission Mr. Somphou Phayasith and relevant officials. The MOU was signed to establish a mechanism for collaboration in human resource development and the exchange information and knowledge on developing the new capital market in two countries Laos and Vietnam.

Mr. Somphou said that the stock market to play an important role to helping the country to mobilise investment in the country.

Presently, Vietnam is the first rank of investment in Laos, which have 252 projects of investment worth US2.77 billion from 2000-2010. He added, the MOU is also historical cooperation on exchange the information between Lao Securities and Exchange Commission and Securities and Exchange Commission of Vietnam.
