LSS: Explanation for business result in Q1.2011
Lamson Sugar Joint Stock Corporation (HOSE: LSS) explained the increase in profit after tax in Quarter 1/2011 compared to Quarter 1/2010:
• Profit after tax in Quarter 1/2011 was VND95,080,079,878, increasing 39.86% from Quarter 1/2010 because of the following reasons:
• Because of seasonal characteristics of sugar-cane industry, the processing season of the Corporation began from October this year to April next year. Therefore, LSS’s revenue increases highly in Quarter 1 and Quarter 4 every year.
• In Quarter 1/2011, the consolidated sales gained VND438.743 billion, increasing VND118.650 billion (Or 37.067%) compared to Quarter 1/2010.
• The consolidated financial income in Quarter 1/2011 was VND15.603 billion, rising VND9.482 billion (Or 154.9%) from Quarter 1/2010, while the consolidated financial expense increased just VND1.361 billion (or 31.14%) compared to the same period of 2010.
• The Corporation has rearranged its organization to raise effects in operations, save expenses and decrease cost of product.
