VST: Explanation for business results in quarter 1/2011

Vietnam Sea Transport and Chartering Joint Stock Company (Vitranschart JSC.) (HOSE: VST) has explained profit after tax at VND3.84 billion in Quarter 1/2011 decreased VND19.84 billion beside Quarter 1/2010 as follows:

• Revenue in quarter 1/2011 increased VND61.04 billion (16.78%) beside quarter 1/2010 because shipping revenue increased 11.82% beside quarter 1.2010, partly thanks to the contribution of 2 new ships has invested in year 2010.

• Interest increased VND13 billion (+48.61%) beside quarter 1.2011 mainly because interest increased 30% to 50% beside quarter 1.2010.

• Loss rate difference increased VND21 billion because the average rate banks increased 9.35% beside the end of 2010, bring to the payment of liabilities also recorded at the exchange rate of 2010 was incurred loss rate differences was not small. From Quarter 2.2011, losses exchange rate difference decreased because the balance of short-term liabilities of 2010 decreased.
