VN-Index plunges below 460

Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index dropped the second day to finish week in red on March 25 as investors lost appetite in equities amid market's uncertainty.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The gauge of 282 companies and five mutual funds listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange slid 0.78 percent, or 3.58 points, to close at 457.74 points, the lowest level in the past three weeks.

Among the index members, 83 were winners, 124 losers, while 80 remained unchanged.

Trading volume on the city bourse slightly improved over the previous trading session as 28 million shares changed hands at a value of VND576 billion.

Saigon Securities Inc. (SSI), the country’s largest brokerage, was the most active share in volume for three days in a row with 1.26 million shares changing hands.

Vietnam Commercial Joint Stock Export Import Bank or Eximbank (EIB) followed with 1.05 million shares.

Sai Gon Thuong Tin Joint Stock Commercial Bank or Sacombank (STB) came next with 902,060 shares.

Truong Long Auto & Technology Joint Stock Company (HTL) and Vietnam Fumigation Joint Stock Company (VFG) both collapsed the daily maximum allowed limit of 5 percent to close at VND13,300 and VND57,000 respectively.

Information & Networking Technology Joint Stock Company (CMT) retreated for four consecutive days, giving up 4.98 percent to VND19,100.

Duc Thanh Wood Processing Joint Stock Company (GDT) stripped 4.86 percent to close at VND17,600.

Viky Plastic Joint Stock Company (VKP) speeded up 5 percent to close at VND4,200.

Alphanam Joint Stock Company (ALP) and Rangdong Light Source And Vacuum Flask Joint Stock Company (RAL) both shot up 4.92 percent to trade at VND12,800 and VND19,200 respectively.

Sao Vang Rubber Joint Stock Company (SRC) gained 4.85 percent to VND23,800.

The smaller in the north also wrapped week in low note as the Hanoi’s HNX-Index trimmed 0.49 percent, or 0.46 points, to close at 92.82 points. Trading volume improved over the previous trading session as 37.5 million shares worth VND574.88 billion changed hands.

Meanwhile, the UPCoM-Index of unlisted shares revived 0.28 points to 38.21 points this morning. Trading volume reached 470,000 shares changed hands at a value of VND2.93 billion.
