Shares repeat losing streak on both bourses
Blue chip slumps caused Viet Nam's stock markets to decline again this morning, after posting modest gains on November 18. In HCM City, the VN-Index fell almost 1 per cent to close today's session at just 426.51. The bourse's volume decreased 14.5 per cent to 27.7 million shares exchanged worth almost VND581.2 billion (US29.1 million).
Decliners outnumbered advancers by 139-60.
Blue chips tumbled and of the ten largest capitalised shares, Masan Group (MSN) lost 3.9 per cent of its value; Phu My Fertiliser (DPM) lost 2 per cent; Bao Viet Holding (BVH) declined 2.4 per cent; Ocean Group (OGC) fell 2.3 per cent; FPT Corp (FPT) lost 1.4 per cent; and Sacombank (ST) decreased 0.7 per cent.
Sacombank (STB) was the most active stock nationwide on a volume of almost 3 million shares changing hands.
In Ha Noi, the HNX-Index lost 1.48 per cent over yesterday's value to close below 100 on 99.1 points.
Market volume declined 16.4 per cent to 23.6 million shares worth just over VND421.6 billion ($21.1 million).
Losers outnumbered gainers by 216-85.
PetroVietnam Construction (PVX) on a volume of almost 2 million shares exchanged was the most active share on the northern bourse, but it fell 1.1 per cent to close at just VND18,800 ($0.94).
