Imported products go up in price

The prices of imported products such as gas, motorbikes, and computers will increase as from November 1.

Gas will rise by VND25,000 per 12kg-tank to VND297,000 and steel by VND100,000-200,000 per tonne.

This is due to the rising value of the US dollar over that of the Vietnam dong, which causes difficulties for Vietnamese businesses when purchasing and paying for goods, forcing them to push prices up.

Other imported products, such as laptops, cameras, MP3 players and bicycles are also going up in price.
