Nine firms surpass year's profit targets
Nine listed companies on both national stock exchanges have reported third-quarter profits that have already surpassed their targets set for the entire year.
Most of the highly profitable firms are operating in such fields as building materials, sugar, rubber and food processing – sectors which benefited from rapidly rising prices in the past quarter.
Five companies reported profits in the first nine months that exceeded targets by more than 10 per cent, including cement manufacturer Can Tho Sadico (SDG), which has exceeded its profit target for the year by a whopping 59 per cent; Long An Food Processing Export (LAF), which has reported nine-month profits 33 per cent higher than the year's target; and Hoa Binh Rubber (HRC), which has bested its target for the year by 32 per cent.
