Gold price sets new record of VND33 million/tael

After hovering around US$1,315 per ounce, the world’s gold prices have suddenly risen to a new record high of US$1,344.4 per ounce, pushing domestic gold prices up to a new peak of VND33 million/tael.

At 10.45am, in Hanoi, SJC gold stood at VND32.8-33 million/tael.

Meanwhile, the gold in Ho Chi Minh City was listed at VND32.75-32.9 million/tael. 

Over the past 10 days, domestic gold prices have increased by 4 percent and the global gold prices by 2 percent.

In the free market, the VND/USD exchange rate on October 6 fluctuated between VND19.660-19.700 per US dollar, while it stayed at VND19.490-19.500 a dollar at commercial banks.
