BMI: Difference of figures in the financial statement Q2 and H1/2010
Baominh Insurance Corporation (HoSE: BMI) has explained difference of figures in the financial statement of Q2/2010 and the first 6 months 2010 as follows:
The item “cash & cash equivalents” of the first 6 months 2010 in the cash flow statement did not match with “cash & cash equivalents” at 1st January 2010 in the balance sheet.
Reason:
The investment of BMI on the United Insurance Company of Vietnam (UIC) recorded under the method of owner’s equity was based on UIC’s un-examined financial statement of the first 6 months 2010 because UIC is the joint venture company, not the public company. Therefore, according to the Vietnam law, it is not compulsory to do the examined financial statement of the first 6 months 2010. It only needs to do the examined one for the fiscal year.
