Ha Noi first-half exports up 10%

Ha Noi's exports growth reached 10.4 per cent in the first half of the year to a total of US$3.4 billion. The Statistics Office of Ha Noi expects this trend to continue over the second half of the year.

Head of Ha Noi Statistics Department Cong Xuan Mui said export activities were developing well.

Goods that experienced strong growth included computer components, garments, textiles, electronics and rice. Coffee and gold, by contrast, both declined.

The average export price in the first half of the year increased by 8 per cent over the same period last year.

Exports in industrial goods saw sharp price increases over the same period.

During the first half of the year, the total value of goods coming into the city are expected to reach $10.5 billion, 29.8 per cent higher than the same period last year.

While imports of fertilisers reduced by 41 per cent, imports of other goods, such as machinery parts, raw materials, steel, chemicals, plastics, petrol and oil, increased by 30 per cent.
