DHL praises Vietnam’s economic growth

Vietnam is one of the countries to have recorded rapid economic growth in the past decade, said John Pearson, the Managing Director of DHL Express for the Asia-Pacific region, at a press briefing in Ho Chi Minh City on June 17.

Mr. Pearson said he believes that Vietnam will continue to maintain its leading position and make the strongest recovery after the global economic downturn.

DHL business in Vietnam grew by more than 30 percent in the first quarter of this year and will continue its growth into the closing month of the year.

He pointed out that both Vietnam and DHL are very strong in Asia. Therefore, the world’s leading express delivery company is increasing its investment in Vietnam to help domestic companies and industries further develop.

On June 17, DHL-VNPT officially launched its express delivery service from Tan Son Nhat International Airport at a cost of US$5 million, bringing its total investment capital in Vietnam to US$14 million.
