SECC to receive new applications

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Cambodia (SECC) has begun to receive applications for the accreditation of professional accounting firms and external auditors to provide professional services in the securities sector, according to an announcement made Wednesday.

The stock exchange is set to launch by the end of this year, but much work has yet to be done – including the construction of the bourse building. On Thursday, Finance Minister Keat Chhon could not confirm if the CSX would launch by the end of this year.

“We are working on it every day, and we have to consider about extremely turbulent situations at stock markets in the world, we have to be careful,” he told reporters after a national assembly meeting.
