Grant Thornton publishes series on corporate succession planning
Auditing and consultancy firm GrantThornton launched its Succession Planning for Vietnamese Businesses series last Friday, aimed at helping owners and investors in privately held businesses understand the firm's role in developing succession plans.
Succession planning is the process of transferring control and ownership of a business.
GrantThorntion Managing Director Kenneth Atkinson said that developing and executing a succession plan was not simple.
"To find the right people to run the business in the future, with a vision that is consistent and that can be followed by the next generation of key employees, and to successfully transfer ownership are challenges that take time to put in place," he said.
A generation of Vietnamese entrepreneurs who developed businesses following Viet Nam's economic reform in the late 80s and early 90s are now looking to shift control of their business to the next generation of managers.
The GrantThornton series offers advice about an integrated approach to ensure that right results are achieved, which will help ensure the long-term survival of the business, maximise wealth and maintain healthy family relationships for family enterprises.
