Danes eager to invest
Danish businesses are eager to co-operate with Vietnamese partners in such fields as renewable energy and clean technologies, with potential investors at a seminar in Copenhagen earlier this week citing improvements to the Viet Nam's investment climate.
Hosted by the Vietnamese Embassy in Denmark, the trade and investment seminar drew the participation of 50 major Danish enterprises, many of which have already established long-term partnerships with Vietnamese firms in such fields as shipping, cement production, wind power, and environmental management. All showed continuing interest in helping Viet Nam save fuel, protect the environment, and respond to climate change, as well as share experiences and management skills.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Denmark Vu Van Luu briefed the participants on the country's socio-economic status and policies to meet goals for 2010. He gave an update on new developments in the two countries' friendship and multifaceted cooperation, noting agreements made during Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung's visit to Denmark and Queen Margrethe II's state visit to Viet Nam last year.
He noted the Vietnamese Government's unceasing efforts to improve infrastructure, create a sound investment environment, and improve human resources to attract stable and long-term investment.
He also provided Danish businesses with information on prioritised investment fields, export staples to Denmark, and a schedule of major trade fairs and technology expos in Viet Nam this year.
