Hai Phong introduces cooperation opportunities in Germany
The northern port city of Hai Phong has introduced its potential for trade, investment and vocational training cooperation during its delegation’s recent visit to Germany.
The delegation led by Nguyen Van Thuan, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, held a working session with Prof. Wolfgang Schroeder, Minister of Brandenburg State, in Posdam city on April 13.
They briefed each other on the socio-economic development of the two localities and discussed the possibility of increasing bilateral cooperation in the areas of their strengths, including trade, investment and vocational training.
Prof. Wolfgang Schroeder said Brandenburg administration and its business community are keen to explore investment opportunities in Hai Phong – a modern port city in Vietnam.
They witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on vocational training with a Germany company.
The delegation also met with Hai Phong’s fellow citizens and businesses at Viethaus in Berlin the same day.
Mr. Thuan acknowledged Hai Phong people’s efforts to overcome difficulties, provide mutual assistance to live stable lives, and support their compatriots in the city.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Do Hoa Binh confirmed that Hai Phong people have made a considerable contribution to operations of the Vietnamese community in Germany.
He briefed participants on the embassy’s activities to celebrate 35 years of Vietnam-Germany diplomacy, the Vietnam Year in Germany, and particularly the Vietnam Festival to be held at Alexanderplatz square in Berlin this August.
Earlier, the delegation and Hamburg-based KWB Company also signed a memorandum of understanding on training vocational teachers for Hai Phong City.
