Dak Lak produces more than 8,000 tonnes of honey

The central highland province of Dak Lak has bred more than 200,000 swarms of bees and has produced more than 8,000 tonnes of honey since early this year, 1.5 times higher than the same period last year.

Buon Ma Thuot City boasts nearly two-third of the total bee population. Most of its households own 200-300 swarms and some even 800.

This year, the province is expected to produce 10,000 tonnes of honey and export 9,000 tonnes.

The Dak Lak Honey Company has bought 7,500 tonnes from local producers and already exported 1,500 tonnes. It has also signed contracts to ship 7,500 tonnes of honey to the US, Japan, Canada and the Republic of Korea.
