South Africa, Vietnam have great potential for trade

The Republic of South Africa is a potential market for Vietnamese exports such as rice, coffee, tea, pepper, cashew nuts, tropical fruits, textiles and garments, and electronics. In return, South Africa can provide high-quality minerals for Vietnamese mechanical and jewelry industries.

The analysis was provided by Adriaann du Pisanie, First Secretary of the South African embassy in Vietnam, at a conference on promoting bilateral trade held in HCM City on March 18.

Le Dinh Buu Tri, Director of the State Capital Investment Corporation’s Ho Chi Minh City branch, said Vietnamese enterprises can invest in a number of fields in South Africa, like agricultural products, tourism, textiles, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and information technology.

Do Thi Kim Lien, South African Honourary Consul in HCM City, said the conference served as a bridge to help South African and Vietnamese businesses boost their cooperation in many areas.
