PET: Explanation for the business results in quarter 4/2009

Petrovietnam General Service Joint Stock Corporation (PETROSETCO) has explained the business results in quarter 4/2009 as follows:

* Revenue in quarter 4/2009 reached VND2,078 billion and increased 17% beside quarter 3/2009 (VND1,774 billion) because in quarter 4/2009 the sales volume of cell phones and laptops increased higher than the previous quarters. Beside, PETROSETCO bought back some companies from PTSC.

* Profit before tax in quarter 4/2009 reached VND18.2 billion and decreased 60% beside quarter 3/2009 (VND46.4 billion) because exchange rate increased in quarter 4/2009, when PETROSETCO buys back the companies made expenses increase and PETROSETCO rewarded employees for revenue in excess of the targets.
