Sci-tech provides impetus for economic growth
The Ministry of Science and Technology wants to develop a modern science and technology sector that can provide a fresh impetus for national economic growth.
This ambitious target was chosen at the Ministry’s meeting in Hanoi on January 29 to set tasks for 2010. Accordingly, science and technology must contribute to increasing the competitiveness of products and services and further the national industrialization and modernization process, as well as the current process of international economic integration.
In 2010, the ministry will improve its legal framework, promote science and technology research, focus on human resources development, and boost international cooperation in science and technology. It will also concentrate on issues relating to quality, measurement and standards and increase the effectiveness of the intellectual property system.
The ministry is now actively preparing the technical infrastructure to produce, manage and ensure the safety of nuclear energy.
