Vietnam Airlines’ representative office opens in Europe

The opening ceremony for a new Vietnam Airlines (VNA) representative office in Europe was held in Paris, France on January 26.

Present at the event were the Vietnamese Ambassador to France, Le Kinh Tai, and Chairman of VNA’s Board of Directors Nguyen Si Hung.

The Director of the VNA representative office in Europe, Le Dung, said the establishment is part of the airline’s plan to advertise its image to that region in preparation for VNA joining the SkyTeam, the second largest airline alliance in the world, in June 2010.

The office has the task of managing, supervising and assisting branches, representative offices, agencies and general agents to deal with issues related to business operation and flight development of VNA in Europe.

Over the last year, the whole European region’s turnover accounted for nearly 20 percent of VNA’s total turnover. This is still a potential market VNA is focused on.
