Vietnam’s integration successful, says WTO Director General
The Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) has said that Vietnam is an outstanding example of successful renovation and integration and the WTO is pleased to work with the country.
Pascal Lamy stated this at the WTO’s headquarters on November 30 while receiving the Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade, Vu Huy Hoang, who is heading up the Vietnamese delegation to the WTO’s seventh Ministerial Conference from November 30 until December 2.
Mr. Lamy welcomed Vietnam’s recent achievements in its economic and trade growth and confirmed that the WTO will continue to provide Vietnam with any necessary assistance.
For his part, Minister Hoang expressed his thanks to Mr. Lamy for his remarks about Vietnam and underlined the country’s determination to fulfill its WTO commitments, which will create a stable, attractive economic and trade climate for foreign investors.
Mr. Hoang added that Vietnam supports the completion of the Doha negotiations by 2010, with a balanced outcome that fully reflects the rights of developing countries.
