PetroVietnam, Mozambique sign cooperative agreements
A delegation from the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) visited Mozambique from November 30 to December 1 to sign cooperative agreements and promote commercial ties between PetroVietnam and Mozambique partners to expand investment in the African region.
During the visit, the delegation led by Dinh La Thang, Chairman of PetroVietnam’s Management Board held working sessions with Chairman and General Director of the Mozambique National Hydrocarbon Exploration Company (ENH), the Mozambique Investment Management Agency (SPI), the Institute of National Petroleum (INP) and Ministers of Natural Resources and Energy.
At the working sessions, Mozambique’s ministers and partners highlighted the close relationship between the two countries through frequent visits made by leaders such as Mozambique President’s tour at Vietnam in January 2007, Vietnam’s Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh’s visit to Mozambique in April 2004 and Party Politburo member Truong Tan Sang’s visit to Mozambique in July 2009.
On December 1, PetroVietnam signed a cooperative agreement with EHN/SPI in the field of petroleum to facilitate oil and gas exploration in Mozambique, Vietnam and a third country. It also signed another agreement with EHN/SPI to promote investment in Mozambique and Vietnam in the field of petroleum.
