Gala night honours Hanoi’s outstanding businesses

The Hanoi City People Committee held a gala evening on December 2 to honour the city’s most prominent and successful businesses in 2009.

The capital’s business community has overcome numerous obstacles in 2009 to maintain and boost their output to earn a combined revenue of VND2600 trillion with a profit of VN11 trillion. They have contributed nearly VND20 trillion to the state budget, generated more than 200,000 jobs and actively participated in many charitable and humanitarian activities that targeted the poor and victims of natural disasters.

At the gala, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung granted the First Class Order of Independence to the Thong Nhat Electromechanics Company and the Thang Long Metal Company, and the Third Class Order of Independence to the Hanoi Urban Environment Company.

The Prime Minister’s certificates of merit were also presented to 13 collective units and individuals at the event.
