Thailand, Vietnam forge stronger ties in rice exports
The Thai government is preparing to organise a ministerial meeting between Thailand and Vietnam at the beginning of next year to forge stronger ties in the rice market, local media reported on November 8.
The Government Public Relations Department's National News Bureau of Thailand (NNT) said PM Abhisit Vejjajiava discussed with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Tan Dung cooperation in rice trade in the context of the consistent rising trend in rice price, on the sidelines of the recent Japan-Mekong Summit in Japan.
During the two-day Mekong subregion summit in Japan , PM Abhisit also discussed with the Myanmar leader measures to intercept drug trafficking in the northern border of Thailand . Meanwhile, his talk with the Lao leader was about transport connections and infrastructure development.
