81 businesses awarded “Golden Trademark” prize

The Vietnam Association for Anti-counterfeiting and Trademark Protection (VATAP) has celebrated its two years of launching Anti-Counterfeit Goods Day and awarded “Golden Trademark” prizes to 81 businesses in the fields of production, distribution and services.

The deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Cam Tu, who is also deputy head of Central Steering Committee 127 said that the event will help promote Vietnamese brand names as the number of small and medium-sized enterprises in Vietnam that do not have a strong trademark remain high.

Mr Tu said that building up a strong trademark is important for boosting trade promotions, and implementing anti-counterfeit goods campaigns as Vietnam integrates deeper into the international market.

Mr Tu called for greater efforts to help the VATAP and businesses in the fight against fake goods to promote prestigious brand names and encourage Vietnamese people to use Vietnamese goods.
