Powdered milk prices must be controlled
The Ministry of Finance is putting the finishing touches to a draft law on the ceiling price of powdered milk to prevent consumers from paying with extremely high prices.
From now on, those who sell powdered milk in Vietnam must follow this new regulation on milk prices or face fines of VND10-20 million if they break the law. The price scale will be based on the weight of the milk powder per kg.
The Ministry announced that milk powder imported from overseas now commands more than 70 percent of the domestic market share.
