Nation ranks 3rd globally in outsourcing, software service
Viet Nam ranks third after China and India for outsourcing IT and software services to Japan, accounting for 0.5 per cent of Japan’s market share, according to Nguyen Doan Hung, vice-chairman of the Viet – Nhat (Viet Nam-Japan) IT co-operation club.
"Viet Nam outsourcing IT and software services are expected to increase their market share in Japan by 10 times within five years," Hung added.
Speaking at a seminar on Viet Nam – Japan software and IT co-operation, co-hosted by VINASA, Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Department of Trade Promotion and Japan IT Association (JISA), Hung emphasised the endless opportunities for co-operation between Viet Nam and Japan.
Annual growth of outsourcing IT and software services offered by Vietnamese software companies has doubled every year, according to JISA.
Many Viet Nam software companies earn 100 per cent of their revenue from Japan, while the largest Software Company here FPT earns 56 per cent of its revenue from that country.
"To ensure the best quality of Japan outsourcing IT and software services, Viet Nam businesses need to focus on labour costs, Japanese language, communication skills, education and cultural similarity," Hung said.
Five leading software companies currently operating, including FPT Software, CMC Integrated System, Viet Nam Technical Solution, CP MISA and European Research Institute, have a total revenue of VND491 billion (US$27.58 billion), 66 per cent higher than 2007, according to HCM City Software Association.
