LeMeridien to operate new City hotel
The real estate company Tien Phuoc & 990 has contracted Starwood to manage its US$120 million five-star hotel when completed in mid-2012 under its Le Meridien brand.
The signing marks the entry of Starwood’s Le Meridien brand into Viet Nam and reinforces Starwood’s position as one of the largest international luxury hotel chains in the Indochina and Thailand region, according to Miguel Ko, chairman of Starwood Hotels&Resorts, Asia Pacific.
The mixed-use Le Meridien Sai Gon project is now under construction at 3C Ton Duc Thang Street. District 1.
The 22-storey hotel component will offer almost 360 guest rooms, four restaurants and bars, a swimming pool, spa and health club and conference rooms.
The 14,000 sq.m. office component will be managed by the owner, according to Nguyen Thi My Phuong, Tien Phuoc&990’s deputy general director.
Le Meridien, a brand of Starwood Hotels&Resorts, currently operates almost 80 properties in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific with the Asia -Pacific representing 26 properties.
