HCM City to host retail, franchise expo
The Viet Nam International Shop Industry Show (VISIS 2009) and the Viet Nam International Franchise Show (VIFS 2009) takes place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) from September 10-12.
Organized by Korean company COEX, South Korea International Trade Association (KITA) and local partner VINEXAD, this show offers business opportunities for Vietnamese companies overseas and introduces international companies to the country’s potential as a destination for the retail and franchise industry.
With more than 130 exhibitors showcasing 250 booths from countries including Viet Nam, South Korea, US and Japan, VISIS 2009 will introduce a wide range of shop-related equipment and materials needed to operate, manage and renovate shops, from design and display items to retail technology and sales and promotional materials.
VIFS will present domestic and international franchise brands and other franchise-related items.
Organisers said they would arrange a Biz Match Making Programme for exhibitors and buyers.
"Seeing the need to tap into the potential of Viet Nam’s retail and franchise markets, we decided to launch this first-ever show in the country," said Seung Tae Hyun, COEX managing director.
"During the last couple of years, we have seen rapid and constant growth in Viet Nam’s retail and franchise market, due to a growing consumer market and an increase in purchases of shop fitting and design equipment," he added.
As the first shop/franchise combined show in the country, VISIS/VIFS 2009 will introduce a special showroom called Ideal Shop.
This newly designed pavilion will introduce the ideal image of the modern shop, introducing various conceptual zones including Mart Zone, Restaurant Zone, Beauty/Health Zone.
All the displayed items will consist of the items of the exhibitors of VISIS/VIFS 2009.
During the show, there will be concurrent programmes including the Retail/Franchise Market Observation Tour and the Viet Nam- South Korea Business Forum and seminars on how to succeed in Viet Nam. Information needed to do business in the country will also be provided.
The exhibition center is at 799 Nguyen Van Linh Avenue in District 7.
