VNM: Explanation for business result in Quarter II/2009

Viet Nam Dairy Products Joint-Stock Company (VNM: VINAMILK) explained the business result in Quarter II/2009 as follows:

Total profit after tax in Consolidated Financial Statements in Quarter II/2009 increased by VND79.3 billion (or 16.35%) compared with Quarter I/2009 because of effects from the following reasons:

1. Total revenue increased by VND619 billion (or 29.32%) because of the company’s effective sales support programs, favorable weather conditions and increase in the need for milk.

2. Selling expenses raised VND95 billion because the company concentrated on promotion and sales support programs.

3. Profit from financial activities decreased VND111 billion due to the provision for financial investment.
