Trade exhibitions promote leather, shoes and building
Two international exhibitions, one on shoes and leather and the other for construction, open at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) today.
The 11th annual Shoes and Leather Exhibition features about 80 producers and suppliers from 15 countries and territories, including China, Hong Kong, Mexico, Spain, Turkey, Italy, India and Viet Nam.
The participants bring with them equipment and machinery for tanning, making leather items, shoe accessories, chemicals and leather products.
The convention will include a conference on promoting Viet Nam’s leather and footwear exports, at which attendants will learn about sales guidelines for potential markets like the EU, Japan and America. Last year, Viet Nam’s sales to overseas markets reached almost US$4.8 billion and the figure is expected to reach $6.2 billion next year.
The three-day convention is organised by the Viet Nam Leather and Footwear Association, the Hong Kong company Top Repute and Hien Dat Company.
Also opening today at SECC is the Viet Nam International Construction and Building Exhibition, with exhibitors from countries and territories such as Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, Germany and Saudi Arabia.
The construction expo will include two minor shows: the first on refrigeration, air-con and ventilation systems; the second on security systems and fire fighting and protection.
Exhibition organiser Top Repute coordinates with Hien Dat Co and VCCI International Fair and Exhibition Centre to run this event.
The exhibitions will run until Saturday at SECC, 799 Nguyen Van Linh Avenue, District 7.
