SD8: Explanation for operating result in the first 6 months of the year

The operating result of Song Da 8 JSC was low in the first 6 months of the year. The company explained as follows:

1. Operating result of QI/2009: a loss of VND 1.69 bil.

In the early year 2009, the company was lack of employment as Tuyen Quang hydro power, Ha Long cement projects ended, other projects such as Huoi Quang, Nam Cong, Pac Khuay hydro power projects postponed execution due to budget deficiency by the investors. Execution in  Nam Chien hydro power project was in early of main stage with high cost for moving workers and preparation plus with difficulty in settlement and payment. For these reasons, output in QI/2009 was VND 24.3 bil/VND 190 bil. of the plan, while bank interest cost was VND 2.34 bil. (18.08% of revenue), adminstrative cost was VND 1.622 bil. (12.77% of revenue).

2. Operating result of QII/2009: a profit of VND 0.14 bil.

The company tried to stablize production, focus on Nam Chien work, rock exploitation in Hoang Mai rock mine. As a result, output in QII/2009 increased 165.7% to VND 40.27 bil., revenue increased by 327.5% to VND 41.58 bil.
