Viettel says to deploy 3G mobile network by year-end
Mobile service provider Viettel said it signed a contract with Chinese Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd to develop the High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) infrastructure for its third generation (3G) network by the year-end.
Huawei will build more than 3,000 base stations throughout Vietnam, including in Hanoi, Da Nang and parts of Ho Chi Minh City, Viettel said Friday.
Customers in both densely populated and remote areas where cable broadband infrastructure was limited will have access to wireless broadband services, superior multimedia services and high-quality content, Viettel said.
