EVN and Hanoi Telecom sign deal on strategic co-operation

The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and the Hanoi Telecommunications Joint Stock Company (Hanoi Telecom) have signed an agreement on 10-year strategic co-operation.

Accordingly, in the first three years, EVN and Hanoi Telecom will invest VND 6,000 billion in the deployment of 3G technology and ensure to provide 3G services to 50% of resident areas.

EVN and Hanoi Telecom will co-operate to make the best use of 3G technological infrastructure. And therefore, after 9-month license, 3G will officially provide its customers with the most synchronous, completed and advanced services. For their own sake, the two units also co-ordinate in technological system operation and business policy making and avoid direct competition.

Currently, EVN Telecom has more than 3,000 broadcasting stations nationwide and Hanoi Telecom has about 1,200. As scheduled, EVN and Hanoi Telecom will raise the number of stations to 8,000.
