Two banks allowed to raise charter capital for 2009

Governor Nguyen Van Giau of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) issued Document No. 4421/NHNN-CNH on June 15 and Document No. 4633/NHNN-CNH on June 18 to permit the Southern Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (Southern Bank) and the LienViet Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (LienViet Bank) to increase their charter capitals to VND 2,304 million from VND 2,027 million and to VND 3,650 million from VND 3,300 million, respectively.

Under these Decisions, the Governor has assigned the SBV branch in HoChiMinh City to appraise the Southern Bank’s documents and the SBV Branch in Hau Giang province to appraise the LienViet Bank’s documents in line with the applicable laws.
